CBS DVD (distributed by Paramount) has released all seven seasons of Family Ties on DVD in Region 1, as of August13, 2013[update]. The series, created by Gary David Goldberg, reflected the move in the United States from the cultural liberalism of the 1960s and 1970s to the conservatism of the 1980s. For the last two seasons of Family Ties, futureFriendsstarCourteney Cox joined the cast as Alexs girlfriend, Lauren Miller. Those who remember Mallory Keaton in the show's earlier episodes might know that she wasn't always a dim character.
